my Story

Owned and operated by Katie frederick, MAEFLOUR creates cakes & treats worthy of pinterest and maybe a second helping. 

Katie graduated from ASU with a degree in musical theatre (jazz hands!) before working at several local coffee shops & bakeries. soon after, she decided Cakes rule and launched a biz of her own in the heart of Phoenix, arizona. 


katie works with each new client, crafting all her treats like pieces of art.  she strives to offer her couples desserts as unique and creative as their own wedding stories.

Katie frederick 

Originally hailing from a pig farm in Minnesota, Katie grew up baking with her grandmothers. In fact, her first job at 16 was at a grocery store writing ‘Happy Birthday’ on sheet cakes!

Katie is a mom to chihuahuas, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday, Jersey (Mike's) & Mimi('s Cafe) that she proudly rescued from the Arizona Animal Welfare League where she also works by day running their volunteer and events department. She holds three gold medals as a part of the Sweet Adelines International Championship Barbershop Chorus, The Scottsdale Chorus. 

Bonus fun fact (as if the above wasn’t a party in itself!) She once ate pizza for 31 days in a row just because it was October…aka National Pizza Month.

Girly + Swirly! So many fun design options to give you the self serve option in the same great flavors of a classic cake.

HanD painted + fondant covered, these goodies are fully customizable with practically any shape imaginable!

Not to be confused with "macaroons", these almond-based French meringue cookies will make you say "ooh-la-la!"

PRICING
The average Maeflour bride or groom will spend between $8-11/serving. Every celebration is custom, as your quote will be. 

Please note: As of 1/1/22, all new orders will require a minimum of $500 due to limited capacity. Thank you for your understanding.

DELIVERY
We would love to take care of bringing the goodies to your event, fees range depending on distance and include setup.

ORDERING
Recommended time before ordering for small events is at least one month ahead of time and six months for weddings. There is always a chance your date is not yet booked, please do not hesitate to inquire!

TASTINGS
Tastings are available for cake orders serving at least 50 guests only. A $50 fee will be assessed, but will be deducted from your total should you decide to book.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS
Maeflour is not a certified GF, Nut-Free or Vegan kitchen, but offers friendly options! Macarons are always gluten-free, and most cupcake, cake, cookie and bar flavors can be accommodated as gluten and/or dairy-free. Just ask!

PAYMENT
To secure the date and pricing agreed upon at consultation and contract signing, a 20% non-refundable deposit must be made. From then, all orders must be paid in full by two weeks before the event. Any placed in less time must be fully paid on date of order. We accept cash, check, PayPal or Venmo!

A contract will be filled out and needs to be signed and returned to secure event date and pricing. After initial inquiry, a free consultation will occur (and tasting if desired for fee, see above) and the contract will be filled out there. In the event that the client is from out of town, email consultation can occur and a digital copy of the contract will be sent out and should be returned as early as possible (one week at the latest) to reserve the date.
